Week Three:
• Turning in our Quartz Compositions.
• Starting to work with puredata. Download the pd-extended software, and begin looking at how it works. My favorite overview of pd is here.
Afterthought: Now, my favorite pd manual is the Floss manual. The first 21 chapters (!) we should be able to breeze through in a day or two. Then things get . . . complicated.
Week Two:
- LAB HOURS.
- Two Opportunities, if you want to put your videos into the larger (Ft. Lauderdale) Art Party World. For ATN, EMAIL ME.(here's an example of the sort of video material ATN is looking for). For V-Day, click here.
Week One:
Some interesting additional QC examples and tutorials here.
Baby's First Quartz App: can you run this? Download it and try. I'm really new at Xcode!
Welcome to Advanced Interactive Multimedia!
This semester, we will approach interactive presentation and performance through a number of directions:
- Quartz Compositions: Using the Quartz environment to create interactive presentations/performances
- Sound Production through Mobile Apps: Using a number of iPhone/iPad apps to create mixable sound textures, in a performative environment
- Creating an Intervention Object (a physical object for use in video feedback/video jamming)
- Mapping visuals to bodies in motion: Using (at least) the Rutt-Etra Synthesizer (and possibly) Kinnect-based interactions to accomplish this.
